Join Friends of the Alexandria Nature Trail (FANT) to celebrate NATIONAL TRAIL DAY!
When: Saturday June 7th @ 9:30AM
Meeting Location: Meet at the YMCA parking lot
Additional Details: Friends of the Alexandria Nature Trail (FANT) is celebrating local trails with a trail walk. We will walk to Big Ole park, estimated 45 minutes. You can stop and shop the Art and Farmer's market or walk further on the Lake Agnes trail. We will meet back at Big Ole at 11:30AM.
Transportation: FANT will provide transportation on Rainbow Rider back to the YMCA.
What to Bring: Water, good walking shoes and a smile

Guided tour of Lake Connie
When: May 22nd @ 9:30AM and expect to launch by 10:00AM
Boat Drop & Meeting Location: See map below for launch location (near the gazebo on the north end of Lake Connie across from Spruce St.)
Parking: There is street parking along 7th, Spruce St, and Temple St.
What to Bring: Canoe or kayak, paddles, lifejackets, and water
Additional Details: Friends of the Alexandria Nature Trail (FANT) will host a guided canoe/kayak tour on May 22nd of Lake Connie and its tributaries. The waterway extends south from Seventh Avenue to near Woodland Elementary. It is estimated that the tour will take about two hours. Friends of the Alexandria Nature Trail (FANT) is working to encourage the preservation and enhanced use of this important and seemingly untouched stretch of natural beauty that lies within the boundaries of Alexandria.
This will ensure notification of any necessary weather-related changes.
